We show respect for teammates, opponents, umpires, and supporters—both on and off the field. Passion and competitive energy are welcome, but disrespect, hostility, or personal attacks are not.

 

 

2. Spirit and Integrity of the Game

 

We play competitively while maintaining fairness and integrity. We expect our members to invoke the spirit of cricket.  Actions or words that cross the line into abuse or intimidation have no place at our club.

 

3. Accountability and Ownership

 

We own our actions and emotions. When things get heated, members are encouraged to pause, seek support, or step away to prevent conflict from escalating.

 

Remember Captains and Club officials are responsible for feedback to umpires and association officials and your comments and opinions should be directed through those channels

 

4. Commitment to Growth

 

We support one another’s development—improving individually and collectively, celebrating progress, and learning from mistakes together.

 

5. Safety, Inclusion, and Child Protection

 

Our club is a safe and inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds.

 

• We maintain awareness of our language and behaviour to ensure everyone feels comfortable and respected.

 

•    Protecting children and young people is a shared responsibility under our Child Safety Policy— Child Safe and Member Protection - Cricket Victoria - any concerns should be raised immediately with a coach, team manager, or designated officer.

 

6.  Self‑Control and Team Focus

 

We value discipline, composure, and teamwork. Strong emotions are part of sport, but we channel them in ways that support performance and uphold the club culture. Participating in training or matches while under the influence of alcohol or illicit drugs is unsafe and prohibited.

 

7.  Support and Reporting

 

Members can approach committee members to discuss concerns or seek guidance. All matters will be handled fairly, confidentially, and with care to the best of our ability.

 

Preston Druids have also appointed an independent Club Standards and Wellbeing Coach for support escalation and advice for the club and its members

 

Consequences and Fair Process

 

When behavior clearly crosses boundaries or affects others’ safety or enjoyment, consequences will apply—ranging from discussions and warnings to temporary or permanent removal from club activities.

Reporting Structure

 

Incidents or behaviour may be noticed by a committee member, member of the club or member of the public and can be discussed with a committee member.

 

Dealing with the behaviour – at least two members of the committee will discuss the concerns with the person involved and the discussion will be noted in a register.  This will be seen as a level one action if deemed non severe. Incidents could lead directly to level two or three depending on the severity

 

Level two will introduce our club’s behavioural coach, independent of the club.  The behavioral coach will work with the individual to assess if they will be able to understand and comply moving forward with our code of conduct.  Failure to work with the behavioural coach will result in immediate level three actions

 

Level three stage results in in an immediate suspension during a review period while reviewed via the committee and the behavioral coach.  Reviews will result in a clear action plan for return or removal from the club.
